Aleksopolsky infantry regiment was founded in 1731 as the regiment Zakamskaya Landmilitsii. The latter is a lodged troops "of the archers, gunners and Polish prisoners" placed on the so-called New Zakamskaya fortified line (on the territory of the Samara region and Tatarstan). The place kvartirovaniya Alexis castle – the regiment was named in 1733 Alekseevskii, from 1769, received the status of regular infantry units, and in 1784 named Alexopolous. Actively participated in foreign campaigns of the Russian army 1813 – 1814, and the suppression of the Polish uprising of 1830 – 1831 he was awarded the silver trumpets for the campaign of 1813 and the St. George banner for the capture of Warsaw, 25-26 August 1831 In 1849 he distinguished himself during the pacification of Hungary and Transylvania, 1854-1855 – the defense of Sevastopol. With the 1870 the regiment was stationed in the Warsaw military district (in 1903 – in pułtusk, Lomzynski lips.). In 1913 the regiment was returned to the name "Alexis". The photo shows three young soldiers in brand new uniforms and sitting in the foreground "uncle" — veterans corporal in white gloves who staff the lower ranks were not supposed to. Form of the colors of the third regiment infantry division (white collar valves and light blue epaulets); the uniform paint stencil marked with a number of divisions – "8.".
