Description

The original picture postcard format in excellent condition. The photo shows a machine hall of power station of the early twentieth century Left foreground her heart – the internal combustion engine is quite a progressive design: the crankshaft and the details of the crank mechanism is completely hidden in said housing, a closed design, in turn, implied the existence of a centralized lubrication system under the spray and pressure. Worked these motors, usually either crude oil, or kerosene; over the cylinders is clearly visible cylindrical consumable fuel tank with a measuring glass. In the foreground can be seen the gear mechanism drive timing (applied to a circuit with lateral valves, the so-called SV – side valves) and auxiliary units (the coolant pump, oil pump and magneto). The engine is mounted on solid Foundation, the crankshaft with the clutch associated with the generator. Visible in the background of the second motor-generator, other construction, pipelines and tanks centralized fuel supply to the engine and pipe exhaust system. On the left wall – the staff of the plant: a soldier-machinist in shirt khaki and cool technology in the tunic of the officer sample. On uniforms technicians are visible narrow "civil" epaulettes on the shirt of the soldier-army wide. Power can power current or consumers related directly to the war Department, or company working on the needs of the army and defense (the latter was widely practiced in 1914 – 1917). Verso signed "Motor class". Great safety snapshot, a unique story. Recommended!
