The original picture is in excellent condition. A portrait visit. Albumin print. The photo is pasted on the branded passepartout of the photo studio of S.L. Levitsky. Slight scuffs of the passepartout, owner's marks on the back of the passepartout. The picture shows the fourth and last son of Nicholas I, the emperor's viceroy in the Caucasus (since 1862) and commander of the Caucasian Army (1862-1881), Field Marshal General (1878), Generalfeldzeichmeister (1852), Chairman of the State Council, Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich (1832-1909). Filmed in a Cossack uniform. The photo was taken in the photo studio of the famous Sergey Lvovich Levitsky (1819-1898), who worked for the supreme court since 1852. Studied and lived in In Paris, he shot Napoleon III, was a member of the French Photographic Society. In 1865 Levitsky returned to Petersburg (apparently, the real picture refers to this time). Levitsky had the exclusive right of artistic ownership of portraits of the Emperor and Empress of Russia. Guarantee of authenticity. A rarity.
