Cloth, melchior. The original paired epaulettes are in satisfactory collector's condition. During the reforms of the late 1900s, among other things, the historical names and spectacular uniforms of the army Hussar and Uhlan regiments were restored. The ceremonial ulan uniform for the lower ranks consisted of a special pattern of epaulettes, which differed significantly from the officers' ones. The scaly neck of the epaulettes reminded that this shape detail is a kind of vestige of the armor of medieval knights and heavy cavalry of modern times. The field and rim of soldiers' epaulettes, unlike officers' ones, were all-stamped metal. White metal (nickel silver) epaulettes with yellow cloth lining were worn by the lower ranks of the 9th Uhlan Voznesensky and 13th Uhlan Vladimir regiments. In addition, such epaulettes were used by the Cossacks of the 4th fifty of the Life Guards Consolidated Cossack Regiment (Zabaikalskaya fifty, Astrakhan, Amur and Ussuriysky platoons). The safety is not bad, they need minor repairs.
