A single and rather rare nickel silver scaly epaulette of a junker with red cloth around the spine and braid around the field in satisfactory preservation. If necessary, we can help to restore the lining. During the reforms of the late 1900s, among other things, the historical names and spectacular uniforms of the army Hussar and Uhlan regiments were restored. The ceremonial ulan uniform for the lower ranks consisted of a special pattern of epaulettes, which differed significantly from the officers' ones. The scaly neck of the epaulettes reminded that this shape detail was a kind of vestige of the armor of medieval knights and heavy cavalry of modern times. The field and rim of soldiers' epaulettes, unlike officers' epaulettes, were all-stamped metal. White metal (nickel silver) epaulettes with red cloth lining were supposed to be worn by the cadets of the Elizabethgrad Cavalry School. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Elisavetgrad Cavalry College is a cavalry military educational institution of the Russian Imperial Army. School holiday: November 26, established in 1877. Location: Russia, Kherson province, Elisavetgrad, Dvortsovaya Street. After the end of the Crimean War, it was proposed to set up Cadet schools in all army corps, but due to the lack of funds in the military department and the inconvenience of organizing military educational institutions at corps headquarters, which moved with the troops from place to place, only three such schools were opened. The Cavalry Officer School (1859-1865) was founded by General of cavalry Baron I. P. Offenberg, at the headquarters of the corps headquarters (in the town of Selishchenskiye Barracks, Novgorod Province) to train lower ranks for officer rank, and on its basis the Elisavetgrad School was established, designed for special education of cavalry officers, with a two—year training period.
It was formed on September 1, 1865 under the name of the Elisavetgrad Cavalry Cadet School for recruiting officers of cavalry units of the Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa military districts, and was officially opened on September 26, 1865. The course at the Junker college was 2 years.
August 6, 1866 — The Elisavetgrad Cavalry Cadet School was ordered to merge with the training cavalry squadron into one institution, which (the squadron) retained the name of the Training Cavalry Squadron. In 1876— the Cossack department was established for 35 people. In 1886, the Cossack Department was transferred to the Novocherkassk Cossack School. Since 1869, non-commissioned officers who had been conscripted could also enter the school.
July 5, 1902 — Renamed the Elisavetgrad Cavalry School. The course at the college was three years, and is divided into three classes — one general and two special. For admission, it was required to graduate from the 6th grade of the gymnasium or pass the appropriate exam. In 1904, the last issue of the closed cadet branches was made. In November 1917, the school was disbanded. In the 1920s, a Society of former cadets of the Elisavetgrad Cavalry School was organized in Belgrade.
