Vaitra Castle was built in 1201-1208 for Henry V. Many interesting and exciting events are connected with this castle, because it was repeatedly besieged by enemies and participated in wars. It was later donated to the city by Rudolf II. The castle itself was built in the Renaissance style, since 1606 it was at the disposal of Count Furstenberg, who later, in the XVI century, rebuilt it. Also, after the invasion of Swedish troops in 1645, the building was slightly restored, as a result of which a light Baroque style can be traced. The castle itself is quite large, painted in snow-white colors, it is complemented by numerous windows, from which in ancient times observations of enemies were conducted.
The interior of the castle has been preserved since ancient times. Its ceiling is decorated with amazing arched vaults, which in combination with gilded pilasters look very exquisite. The walls and ceiling are painted in milky tones, and the floors are tiled in imitation of marble.
