Beer mug with the landmark of Mersburg on Bodensee

The brewery was founded by Carl Fidelis Graf in 1845 near the city walls of Sigmaringen. Thanks to its convenient location, it was possible to establish good contacts with the princely house of Hohenzollern. His son Herman Graf introduced electric lighting at the brewery in the 1890s. The latter's son, Paul Graf, built a new brewery. To this day, this building remains the core of the brewery. He invested in compression chillers and thus changed the production of beer, abandoning whipped ice, which allowed it to be cooled all year round.

His son Herman and son-in-law Alexander Fleishhut survived the turmoil of the war together with the brewery and invested in a brewery and storage cellars, as well as in the construction of a bottling plant.

After studying to be a brewer at the Weihenstephan Research Center, Peter Fleishhut joined the brewery in the 1960s. Before his retirement in 2002 due to illness, he rebuilt the brewery several times. His daughter Claudia Sieben, the current owner in the sixth generation, together with managing director Ralph Raquel produces and distributes beer and soft drinks worldwide, which employs 45 employees. Today, together with Managing Director Ralph Raquel, his daughter Claudia Sieben produces and sells beer and soft drinks all over the world. In addition to Germany, which accounts for most of the total sales, these include foreign countries in Europe, China and Russia.
