The original beer mug is in excellent condition. It was released for the military Christmas of 1940 for the staff of camp XVIIA. In September 1939, shortly after the outbreak of World War II, the Stalag VII A prisoner of war camp was established in the north of Moosburg. Initially, it was designed for 10,000 prisoners, but by the end of the war there were 80,000 allied soldiers there, primarily French and Russians. In 1945, American troops captured Moosburg and freed the prisoners of war. Stalag VII A served as an internment camp until 1948; (Civilian Internment Camp No. 6) and housed 12,000 German prisoners accused of supporting the Nazi regime. Since 1948, those forcibly abducted from their homeland began to settle on the territory of the former camp. There was a separate part of the city with numerous craft workshops and commercial enterprises: the New Town of Moosburg. Today, only a few old barracks remind of the camp, as well as a monument at the former cemetery of prisoners in Oberreit and a camp well in A new city. Guarantee of authenticity.
