Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich (German: Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich; March 7, 1904, Halle, Saxony, German Empire — June 4, 1942, Prague, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Nazi Germany) was a statesman and politician of Nazi Germany, head of the Main Directorate of Imperial Security (1939-1942), deputy (acting) of the Imperial Protector of Bohemia and Moravia (1941-1942). SS Obergruppenfuhrer and Police General (since 1941). One of the organizers of the "final solution of the Jewish question", coordinator of actions against the internal enemies of Nazi Germany. He died of wounds as a result of an attempt on his life during the sabotage operation "Anthropoid" of the National Committee for the Liberation of Czechoslovakia (Czechoslovak Government in exile) and the British special service "Directorate of Special Operations". The direct perpetrators of the assassination attempt were agents Captain Josef Gabchik and Sergeant Jan Kubisch.
