The badge was established in 1938 by Imperial Decree No. 553. In the center of the sign is Kusunoki Masashige, a 14th-century samurai who is considered a symbol of loyalty to the emperor. There were two types of badges: gold—plated — for a combat wound, and silver-plated - for non-combat. Guarantee of authenticity.
