Description

The original medal is in excellent collector's condition. Bronze, gilding, stamping. Judging by the award document, it was awarded to Alexey Ivanovich Lylin, a Soviet officer. Awards to Soviet servicemen are quite rare. Guarantee of authenticity.

History

The Medal of Victory and Freedom is a state award of the Polish People's Republic. The medal was established by Decree of the State Council of the Polish People's Republic on October 26, 1945. The same Decree approved the Regulations on the medal and its description. Among the first recipients of the Victory and Freedom Medal were the first President of Poland, B. Berut, Marshal of Poland, M. Roly-Zimersky. According to the Regulations, the Medal of Victory and Freedom was awarded:



    • all military personnel of the revived Polish People's Army;

    • all military personnel who took an active part in the defensive war in September 1939;

    • soldiers and officers who fought as part of the Polish Armed Forces in the West upon their return to their homeland;

    • Polish citizens who fought with the Nazi invaders as part of the Allied forces outside the country;

    • members of the partisan movement in Poland and members of the Resistance movement in Yugoslavia and France.



Foreign citizens were also awarded the Medal of Victory and Freedom. The medal had one degree and was awarded once. The right to award the medal belonged to the Council of Ministers of the Polish People's Republic.
