The award is made in the form of a silver Rupert's cross, covered with red and white enamel, with an elongated lower end. In the center is a white round medallion with a classic red cross. Around it, on a red enamel ring, there is an inscription in gold letters: "PATRIAE AC HUMANITATI" (To the Fatherland and Humanity), and on the reverse there are commemorative dates: "1864-1914." At the edges, a green enameled wreath of laurel and oak branches passing between the rays of the cross indicates that the badge was awarded for services directly to time of military operations (World War I) and associated with danger to life. The cross is attached to a white silk ribbon with two narrow red stripes around the edges. The original case is included. Guarantee of authenticity.
The award was established in August 1914 by Emperor Franz Joseph I in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Red Cross Society. This copy with a laurel wreath was awarded during the First World War (1914-1918) for services in combat
