The medal was established on February 19, 1886 by Prince Alexander I of Bulgaria Battenberg. In the center of the obverse is the coat of arms of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg, crowned with a large crown. There is a five-pointed star under the coat of arms. There is an inscription in Bulgarian around the circle: "ALEXANDER I PRINCE of Bulgaria." At the base of the coat of arms, you can see the engraver's stamp — "SCHILLER". On the reverse side (not visible in the photo) there is usually an inscription "GRATEFUL TO THE FATHERLAND FOR its brave sons" (Grateful Fatherland to its brave sons) and the date "1885", surrounded by a laurel wreath with the names of battlefields (Slivnitsa, Gargoyles, etc.). The award was issued in two basic metals, depending on the role of the participant in the war.:
Silver: It was awarded to combatants (direct participants in combat operations). The total circulation was about 60,000-200,000 copies.
Bronze: It was intended for non—combatants - persons who were in military service, but did not take part in battles. The circulation was about 30,000 copies.
Guarantee of authenticity.
