The Medal of Bravery and Memory of the Spanish "Blue Division" (German: Tapferkeits- und Erinnerungsmedaille der Spanischen "Blauen Division") was established on January 3, 1944. The medal was awarded to soldiers of the Spanish Blue Division who took part in the war against the Soviet Union. In total, about 47,000 people were awarded (mostly Spaniards, but there were several hundred more Portuguese). The ribbon is similar to the ribbon of the Iron Cross of the Second Class, but with a yellow stripe in the middle.
