The original. |
The original medal is in excellent collectible condition. Bronze, stamping, patination. Medal on the original ribbon. The diameter is 32 mm. The obverse depicts an Italian soldier standing with one foot on the Appennine Peninsula of Italy, the other on the Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic Sea and hoisting the flag of Italy in Yugoslavia. Behind it are depicted the fascia and the symbol of the Venetian Republic (under whose rule Dalmatia was in 1420-1797) — the Lion of St. Mark with an open book, on the pages of which you can read the Latin inscription "PAX TIBI MARCE EVANGELISTA MEUS" ("Peace be upon you, Mark, my Evangelist"). The reverse depicts a winged Nike with a sword and shield surrounded by the inscription "VINCERE DALMAZIA REDENTA 1941" ∧XIX and the coat of arms of Dalmatia. Medallist Constantino Affer (Costantino Affer, 1906-1987). Guarantee of authenticity.
Unofficial medal. It was awarded to the soldiers of the 2nd Italian Army - participants in the invasion of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, in the Dalmatia region, after the German invasion of Yugoslavia, on April 6, 1941.
