The original medal is in excellent collector's condition. The medal is on the original shoe. Bronze, stamping, patination. The diameter is 30 mm. On the obverse is an image of Prince Ferdinand I in profile, surrounded by the inscription of the title: "FERDINAND II PRINCE OF BULGARIA", the two parts are separated from each other by six-pointed open stars. On the reverse is a winged wheel with zippers. Above it is a small composition consisting of a scroll with a crossed shovel and an axe behind it. The ring around the edge reads "YAMBOL — BURGAS ON MAY 14, 1890." The medal was awarded to military personnel who participated in the railway line. Lower ranks were awarded with bronze medals, officers were awarded with silver medals. Rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
The medal dedicated to the completion of the Yambol-Burgas railway line was established as a result of a decision of the Ministry of Finance and was made in three versions – with a diameter of 90 mm, 50 mm and 30 mm, and only the latter type has the status of an award medal, which was worn on the left breast of the laureate. A 30-millimeter version of the medal was presented to representatives of the Pioneer Regiment, which was responsible for the construction of the line itself. The officers of the regiment were awarded a silver medal, and candidates for officers, sergeants and lower ranks were awarded a bronze medal. There is also a very rare variant of the medal, in which the tubular holder is replaced by a toroidal one. The engraver of the medal is Josef Christlbauer. It was produced in Austria-Hungary.
