An original and extremely rare medal in excellent collector's condition. Bronze, stamping. Complete with the document of the owner, the sergeant–major of the border guard. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Medal "For Saving the Dead" and the medal "For Encouraging Charity" were the first awards established after the declaration of independence of Bulgaria in September 1908. Both medals have a similar organization and design. Unlike the medal "For the Encouragement of Charity", the medal "For the Rescue of the Dead" had more than one variation. The first type depicted a portrait of King Ferdinand I, and the second — his son Boris, who became king at the end of 1918. The obverse of the latter repeats the design of the Medal of Merit of Boris III. In addition to the portrait of the monarch, the two issues of the medal also differ slightly in the ribbon with which the medal is awarded. In later editions of the medal, the central crimson stripe is thinner. The medal was originally designed by Paul Telge and produced in Germany. The author of the obverse of the medal during the reign of Boris III is unknown.
