The original state award of the Independent State of Croatia (NGH) during the Second World War. The award was established on December 27, 1941 by the head of the NGH By Ante Pavelich. The profile of the Croatian king is depicted in the center. Dmitar Zvonimir (1075-1089) with a scepter in his hand. The inscription "DMITRY ZVONIMIR" is on top, and the year of his coronation "1076" is on the left. The medal is topped with the image of the so-called "Old Croatian Crown" (crown of King Zvonimir). The reverse side usually depicts the coat of arms of the NGH (chessboard) surrounded by floral ornaments and the motto "BOG I HRVATI" (God and the Croats). The medal was awarded to both military and civilians for services to the Croatian people and the State.
