The original. |
Original medal in a good collectable condition. Bronze, stamping, plating. The medal is round, silver plated with a diameter of 38 mm. On the obverse of the coin in its Central part depicts the order of the Cross of Grunwald. Along the edges of the coin the inscription: "ZA UDZIAŁ W WALKACH O BERLIN". Words are separated from each other by small squares. On the reverse of the coin on the background of stylized Laurel branches, placed vertically, on three plates the inscription: "MINISTERSTW/ OBRONY NARODOWEJ/ PRL". A branch of Laurel in the lower part of the looped ribbon. All images and inscriptions on medals convex relief. Surface of smooth polished coin. At the top of the medal is the eye with a ring by which it is secured to the tape. The ring on the front side is decorated with ornaments. Of medal ribbon silk moire red 40 mm wide, with two narrow longitudinal stripes on the sides black (2 mm) and yellow (3 mm) colors. The guarantee of authenticity.
Medal "For participation in the battle for Berlin" (Medal Za udział w walkach o Berlin) was established 21 April 1966. It was awarded National servicemen of the Polish army, directly involved in the assault and capture of Berlin, and soldiers of the auxiliary units. 23 December 1992, the medal has been completed. Only awarded 12 700 Polish soldiers and officers. The medal is worn on the left side of the chest.
