Bronze, enamel, gilding. An original and rather rare sign in excellent collector's condition. The old hook repair is shown in the photo. The set also includes a photo of the owner of the badge – a military medic with the rank of lieutenant colonel with a donation signature on the back side. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Bulgarian Red Cross Society was founded in 1887 and was very active in helping the wounded in the war with the help of medical trains and field hospitals both during the Balkan Wars (1912-1913) and in the First World War. The badge was awarded to Bulgarians and foreign citizens for services to the Bulgarian Red Cross in wartime. During the First World War, several awards of Austrians, Hungarians and Germans were recorded.
