The original commemorative medal is in very good collectible condition. Bronze, stamping. Quite rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
Initially, the brigade was called "Granatieri di Toscana" (7th and 8th Infantry regiments). In 1862, the brigade was renamed "Toscana" (77th and 78th Infantry Regiments). By the beginning of World War I, the brigade was part of the 6th Infantry Division, third Army Corps (III Corpo di Armata Milano), 1st Army. The infantry of the brigade distinguished themselves during the war. Already in 1915 they were first called "wolves". Subsequently, the brigade, and later the division, became known as "Lupi di Toscana" ("Wolves of Tuscany"). In 1916, for the capture of Mount Sabotino, the brigade received a gold medal "For military Valor". On December 15, 1938, as a result of the new army formation, the Lupi di Toscana rifle division (Wolves of Tuscany) was formed as part of the 77th and 78th Infantry regiments, the 7th Toscana Brigade and the 30th Artillery Regiment. In 1939, the division took part in the occupation of Albania. In 1940 - 1943, the division took an active part in the fighting in France and the Balkans. In 1940, the division was part of the IV Corps, 9th Army. Accordingly, the division consisted of: the 77th and 78th infantry regiments "Lupi di Toscana", the 30th Artillery Regiment "Leonessa", the 15th Legion CC.NN. composed of: the 14th battalion "Garibaldina" and the 15th battalion "Leonessa".
