Finnish medal of the participant of the Winter War of 1939-1940

The original medal is in excellent condition. On the original shoe. Steel, stamping, patination. The diameter is 31 mm. The obverse of the medal depicts a Finnish soldier dressed in a winter uniform, turned to the right and firing a rifle. The image of the arrow is framed by a ring of the coat of arms of the regions of Finland. The inscription "KUNNIA ISANMAA" ("Honor, Motherland") is stamped on the reverse. Guarantee of authenticity.

Established on August 2 , 1940 . The so-called "cuckoo". The most massive military award in Finland - up to 1,000,000 pieces were made. The medal was awarded to all those who contributed to the defense of the country. The medal was accompanied by slats indicating either the place of participation in the battle (13 slats) or the type of troops (4 slats).  In addition, the medal could be awarded with swords - a special sign on the ribbon.
