Bronze, gilding, enamel. The original badge of the order is in excellent collector's condition. The mark on the original shoe. In the center of the obverse is the monogram of the founder, Prince Ferdinand I, with the inscription "FOR MILITARY SERVICE" in a circle on a white enamel background. In the center of the reverse is a Bulgarian lion with a coat of arms shield on its chest and the date of foundation of the Order of Civil Merit is August 2, 1891. The suspension link is made in the form of a royal crown, which is typical for most degrees during the monarchical period. The presence of a green enamel laurel wreath on the cross itself indicates that the award was given for special wartime distinctions (the so-called "military honors" category). The crossed swords between the ramen of the cross also confirm the martial nature of the merits. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Order was established by decree of Prince Ferdinand I on August 2, 1891. It was intended to reward military personnel for impeccable service and special merits in wartime. The IV degree (officer's degree) was traditionally made of gilded bronze and worn on a ribbon with a rosette.
