The order is a cross of the "Pisan" type (with flaring ends), without enamel, made of silver-plated bronze. Rare type: Ferdinand's badge of issue, the crown of the period of Tsar Boris. They were awarded for a very short period of time. In Bulgaria, it is called a "hybrid" among collectors. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Order had six degrees. The 5th degree, or knight's class, was enameled, whereas the 6th degree, presented here, was characterized by the absence of enamel and was intended for lower-ranking officials, teachers and foreigners. The badge is suspended from the royal crown with two decorative banners, which, in turn, are attached to a triangular block with a ribbon. The ribbon is used in the colors of the Bulgarian flag: white with red and green stripes around the edges. The Order was established by Prince Ferdinand I on August 2, 1891 and existed until the abolition of the monarchy in 1946. It was awarded for outstanding services of civilians to the State.
