Awarded for bravery is worn on the ribbon of the silver palm bearing the monogram of king albert I (1st World war) or Leopold (2nd World war), after 1954, these monograms have been cancelled. Mothers of dead soldiers are allowed to wear this award; in this case, the tape fastens the placket in black.
