It was established in 1930 during the reign of Nadir Shah (October 16, 1929-1933). The Order was awarded to participants in the suppression of the uprising of Bachai Sakao ("Son of the Water Carrier") in 1929, who overthrew the regime of Amanullah Khan, the previous king of Afghanistan. This event was attended incognito and the Soviet detachment from April to the end of May under the command of Primakov, who lost 120 people. Officially, it was presented as a fight against the Basmachi who had taken refuge in Afghanistan.
