Cleaver French student of the Military Academy, infantry branch (?)

Blade steel, straight, duesbery, with a single fuller on both sides. The hilt is brass, one-piece, consists of a hilt and cross-piece. The handle straight, spindle-shaped inclined grooves. Finial oblong, embossed, made in the form of a flower Bud. Cross video, massive with rounded endings side decorated with relief ornaments in the form of oak leaves and acorns (?). Leather scabbard with brass device consisting of the mouth with the peg and tip with embossed Shoe. Peg shaped, made in the form of a lion's head. The tip is notched, Crescent-shaped, decorated with embossed swirls.

This cleaver we were identified as Military Academy students branches of infantry in mind custom finial and tip of the sheath. The pommel is made in the form of a flower Bud — like finial is described in the book Jean Lost, Patrick Rezek "the Sword of the French army" (Publishing house "Sagittarius". Zhigulevsk. 2009) on page 92 and set on the saber of infantry of the national guard; the pommel is also significantly different from the various constituent rubbers described in this book. Similar to the tip of the scabbard described in the book Jean Lost, Patrick Rezek "the Sword of the French army" (Publishing house "Sagittarius". Zhigulevsk. 2009) on pages 73-75 and installed on the cleaver of the Military Academy.

Item is in good collectible condition. Surface corrosion on the blade. Traces of existence on the scabbard and the hilt.
