The helmet of the 1926 model (M 26) had a more simplified contour than that of the 1921 model. The M 26 was made of an alloy of steel, nickel and chromium, which made it more durable. It is characteristic that the front emblem was not installed on the M 26, as on the M 21. The weight of the helmet was about 1200 grams, depending on the size, and the thickness of the steel was 1.8 mm. Unlike the M 21, the M 26 had a sharp edge at the base of the helmet. The balaclava of this helmet model, as well as the M-21, consisted of three double leather tabs, to which pouches stuffed with horsehair were attached from the inside. In the upper part, the leather tabs were fastened with a cord through special holes. However, unlike the M-21, this model lacked a hoop to which the balaclava was attached, and the leather tabs were attached to the helmet using metal plates that were not connected to each other. The chin strap remained the same as on the M 21, consisting of two halves and fastened with a rectangular fastener. The helmet was painted in dark green or gray, and sometimes decals depicting three golden crowns on a blue background were applied to the sides of the helmet. During the Second World War, a helmet of this model was supplied to the armies of Norway and Finland. The M 26 was manufactured until the end of the 60s.
