The original medal is in excellent condition. Rare. Silver, stamping. The diameter is 40 mm. The weight is 24.4 grams. The central element of the medal is an equilateral Red Cross in shining rays, symbolizing hope, salvation and humanitarian aid at the front. On the left is a seated German infantryman in a distinctive helmet (pickelhelme) with a rifle, bowing his head. On the right is a wounded or recovering soldier, pressing his hand to his chest and looking up at the cross. Below are the years 1914 and 1917, between which the coat of arms of Bavaria with recognizable blue and white diamonds is located. This medal was minted in honor of Marie Therese von Österreich-Este, Queen of Bavaria (1849-1919), who during the war years was actively involved in the patronage of charitable organizations and the support of the hospitals of the Bavarian Red Cross and whose portrait is on the other side of the award. There are also bronze versions of this commemorative award. Guarantee of authenticity.
