Medal to the participants of the War of 1849, Baden

An original and rather rare medal in satisfactory collector's condition. A medal from the ground. Bronze, stamping. Guarantee of authenticity.

The medal was established by Leopold, Grand Duke of Baden on August 9, 1849, to be awarded to participants in the suppression of the revolution in Baden. The obverse depicts a wreath of palm branches, intertwined with a ribbon at the bottom, on top of their knight's sword, as a symbol of peace obtained by weapons.
On the reverse in the center is a five—line inscription: "DEM TAPFEREN BEFREIUNGS HEER 1849" ("THE BRAVE ARMY OF LIBERATION 1849"), enclosed in a laurel wreath - a symbol of glory. On the edge of the medal there is an inscription: "LEOPOLD GROSHERZOG VON BADEN" ("LEOPOLD DUKE THE GREAT OF BADEN").
