A fairly rare shako in good collector's condition. Leather, cloth. Cockades and buttons are made of brass. There is a beautiful pressed stamp of the manufacturer on the balaclava. Crown with minor dents. Guarantee of authenticity. The 71st New York Infantry Regiment is a unit of the New York State Guard. Initially, the 71st Infantry Regiment was part of the New York State Militia, and then from 1850 to 1993 - the National Guard. The numbering of the regiment did not change during the reorganization of the army in the early 1920s due to the fact that from 1917 to 1919 it was broken up to be staffed by other units and never received a numerical designation corresponding to the National Guard regiment.
