Description

the USSR, M-Leningrad: State publishing house "ART», 1943 the Artist Itize. The size of 82,CH,5. Tears, a small loss, pollution, damage, patches turnover. Extremely rare. Guaranteed original.

Biography: Irakli Toidze Moiseevich (1902 - 1985) - graphic artist and painter. People's artist of the Georgian Soviet Union (1980). One of the most eminent artists of the Stalin era. Graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of arts (1930). Toidze - author of the picture "Young Stalin reads a poem W. Rustaveli „the knight in the Panther's skin“» (it is known that Stalin in young and Mature years loved to read this great Georgian poem). During the war, the artist fulfilled a number of posters, including gained worldwide fame sheet "the Motherland is calling!  (1941). Stalin poster liked. He ordered to print it with a circulation of 5 million copies and send to all city and district party committees and in the military enlistment offices in secret packages labeled "to Open a special order of“.&"For the original poster, - according to I. Bunica Century and Suvorov, amongst other data, there are the usual date signed for printing: «25 December 1940,“». The same date is on the script of another famous poster "Under the banner of Lenin - ahead westward!&"In the opinion of Bunica, this fact is an evidence of the fact that Stalin was planning an attack on Germany in 1941, and the poster Toidze was considered as backups in case "if things go wrong, as I would like.  By the evening of June 22, both poster appeared on the walls of houses (I. Bunin Surgery "Storm», or an Error in the third sign. So 2. SPb., 1994. C. 265). Itoiz - laureate of the Stalin prize for four times (1941, 1948, 1949, 1951). Awarded the order of red banner of Labor. Died in Moscow. Pahoran at Kuntsevo cemetery.
