Background: background: Vakhtang Orbeliani was born April 5, 1812 his father is a Colonel Vakhtang the Dimitrievich Orbeliani was killed by the rebels kegetinskij peasants two months before the birth of the future poet. Vakhtang Orbeliani took part in a noble conspiracy of 1832 As one of the main participants of the conspiracy, he was sentenced to the death penalty, which was later replaced by expulsion from Georgia in Kaluga. Four years later, in 1837, after serving his sentence, Vakhtang Orbeliani returned to Georgia.
In 1838, it is taken for military service. He had to take part in the many wars and campaigns. One time he was Governor of the Kuban region. In 1860 he was awarded the rank of major General, and in 1864 he was transferred to the TRANS-Caucasian army. In the same year, Century Orbeliani was appointed a member of Presence for peasants ' Affairs, in different times he occupied the position of conciliator. Died Century Orbeliani September 29 (Art. Printed Vakhtang Orbeliani began in 1857, but most of his poems refers to 1879-1890 years. Sometimes a song echoes policy and malice of the day: he condemns selfishness ( "Why are we born»), regarding trends of the young Georgian literature ( "Queen»).
Complete collection of poems Orbeliani (in Georgian language) was published in 1894, with a biography, written by Ilya Chavchavadze. The complete works of Vakhtang Orbeliani last appeared in the publishing house "Georgian book», Tiflis in 1928.
