In the army of the Soviet Country, medallions were first introduced by Order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR No. 856 dated August 14, 1925. "On the introduction of the "Instructions for the use of medallions with personal information about the Red Army and Red Navy servicemen"". The order introduced for the army and navy a set of a hinged metal box with a size of 50 x 33 x 4 mm with an ear, a parchment sheet to fill it with personal information and a ribbon for permanent wearing on the chest. The parchment insert printed in the printing house had extremely small columns and therefore only the most important things could be written in such an insert: surname, abbreviated name, patronymic, year of birth, military enlistment office, region (republic), city (district), village (village), military rank. As for the quality of the paper itself, in reality, in most cases, even a hint of parchment was not found, because the inserts were printed on the simplest, often newspaper, paper. In the vast majority of cases, these medallions did not provide airtight packaging of the liner, and therefore its safety is negligible. In 1937, this type of medallions was removed from the army's allowance in connection with the political processes of the 30s.
