Tamara Fyodorovna Makarova (31 July (August 13) 1907 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire — January 20, 1997 Moscow, Russian Federation) — Soviet actress, teacher, Professor. People's artist of USSR (1950). Hero Of Socialist Labor (1982). Member of the CPSU(b) since 1943.

Tamara Makarova was born on 31 July (13 August) 1907, (other sources — 1902), in St. Petersburg in the family of a military doctor. At the age of 14 years, was fond of theatre and ballet, Tamara has created his own troupe, bringing it to the neighborhood children. Yard theatre to enjoy the performances of the residents of the surrounding area; it even registered, and the boys began to ration. In 1924, Tamara Makarova, after graduating from school, enrolled in acting workshop MUSTFOR[2]. There she first met Sergei Gerasimov.

In the movie Makarova made her debut in the 1927 film "Alien suit". The factory "Sovkino", producing this film, it came by accident, literally from the street: it led assistant G. M. Kozintsev and L. Z. Trauberg. During the shooting of this picture, she met again with Gerasimov. The young men became close and got married. All further creative activity Makarova was associated with her husband. On his advice, in 1927, she enrolled at the kinootdelenie College of performing arts (graduated in 1930). In the film Gerasimov Makarova first appeared in 1934. It was a picture "do you?" unfortunately, not preserved. By the time Makarov has already worked with such Directors as V. I. Pudovkin and A. I. pyrev, often acted with her husband. Union success came to him in 1936 with the release of the film "Seven brave." Then followed a series of successful collaborations is "Komsomolsk", "Teacher", "Masquerade". The last painting was completed just before the war.

The theme of the great Patriotic war and the blockade, occupy a large place in the work of Makarova. The couple remained in the city until 1943. Makarov participated in the defense of Leningrad, worked as an instructor in the political Department of the front, an orderly, a nurse. Their joint work during this period was the film "Invincible," about the heroic struggle of the Soviet people. The film was put together Gerasimov, Mikhail Kalatozov, and Makarova played it one of the main roles. Just at the Studio "Lenfilm" Makarov worked for 16 years (from 1927 to 1942). Then the couple went to the rear in Tashkent. There they have adopted child — a son Arthur, who later became a famous writer and screenwriter. Military issues, the rear is dedicated to the following work spouses — tape "Great land."

To return from evacuation to Leningrad, the family did not, they moved to Moscow. Since 1944 Makarova teaches at VGIK, which now bears the name of her spouse. In 1968 she became a Professor at this University. .

It is also worth noting that Gerasimov and Makarova were not professionally dependent on each other. Tamara Fedorovna was no less successful in the films of other Directors ("the Stone flower", "the Vow"), and Sergei Appolinarievich was an independent creative unit. Despite the family ties, the wife appears only in the fourth film, and later he often did without it ("and Quiet flows the don", "the lake", "Red and black").

Since the early 1950s, the Makarov is removed much less often, mostly in the films of her husband. She is also the co-writer of the debut movie T. M. Lioznova "memory of the heart" and the author of the libretto of the film "People and animals". Was Tamara Makarova died 20 January 1997, (according to other sources — January 19), in Moscow.
