Authors Dementieva L., Halibut I. The first princely kennel was mentioned in 1504 in the spiritual testament of Grand Duke Ivan III, who paid much attention to breeding purebred hunting dogs. His son and heir, Grand Duke Vasily III, became a passionate fan of dog hunting. According to the testimony of the German diplomat Sigismund Herberstein, the author of fascinating descriptions of the Moscow state of the first half of the XVI century, there were two breeds of hunting dogs in the kennels of Vasily III: 'big dogs' — greyhounds and hounds — and 'smaller dogs' — Caucasian greyhounds, which were used for hunting hares and were valued very highly. This edition is an album of illustrations dedicated to dog hunting. The volume is 48 pages. The format is 217*245 mm.
