Biography: Reformatsky Aleksandr Nikolaevich [25.11 (7.12).1864, S. Borisoglebskaya, now Ivanovo region - 27.12.1937, Moscow], the Soviet chemist. Graduated from the (1888 ,) the Kazan University, the student A. M. Zaitsev. With 1889 read in Moscow University courses of history of chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry. In 1894 worked for B. Meyer in Heidelberg. Professor of the Moscow group courses (1898), Higher women's courses (1900), the 2nd Moscow University (1918), Moscow Institute of fine chemical technology (from 1930), and also Director of the (1906-16) practical Moscow Academy, Professor of chemistry National University. A. L. Shanyavsky (1901-19). Together with the Century Century Markovnikov investigated the composition of rose oil (1894); studied aromatic aldehydes (1901). Studied the effect allyl iodide and of zinc on ethyl ester α-bromopropionate committees, synthesized monatomic unsaturated fatty alcohols CnH2n-5OH (1908). The author of textbooks "Inorganic chemistry» (26 publications 1903) and "Organic chemistry» (7 publications 1904).

He studied the action of allyl iodide and zinc on ethyl ether of α-bromopropionate committees, synthesized the unsaturated Monohydric fatty alcohols CnH2n-5OH (1908). The author of the textbook "Inorganic chemistry" (26 publications since 1903) and "Organic chemistry" (7 editions from 1904).
